"CSI meets the Age of Reason with a well-drawn, intriguing cast of characters, headed by the brilliant Dr. Thomas Silkstone. Full of twists and turns, Tessa Harris's debut mystery can confound the most adept reader. Vivid details pulled me right into the world of early forensic sleuthing. A page turner!"

Welcome to my web pages. Like many writers, I lead a double life. For almost 30 years I've been a journalist by day, but always a closet novelist and screenplay writer by night. That has changed recently with the publication (in December 2011) of my first historical crime novel in the Dr Thomas Silkstone Mystery series, The Anatomist's Apprentice. Two more are planned for 2012 and 2013. Both the fact and the fiction elements of my life do, however, co-exist very happily and are united in my passion for history.
